Emerald Asks: Who was Your Best Teacher?

Bingley, United Kingdom, 15 February 2016 – Emerald Group Publishing, global publisher linking research and practice to the benefit of society, is inviting people to share their memories of a teacher who inspired them or made a lasting impression on them in some way. Parents are often the people who shape who we become as human beings, but for many, a teacher made a real difference or changed the way in which we view the world.

Those wishing to take part are asked to upload a video describing who their best teacher was and why to Facebook or Twitter using the hashtag #MyBestTeacher.

Andy Hargreaves, Editor in Chief of Emerald’s brand new education title, Journal of Professional Capital and Community (JPCC) recently took part in a “60 Seconds with ..." interview by Bob Greenburg’s Brainwaves Channel where he speaks about his best teacher and the impact they made on his life.

In the interview, Andy explains, “Mary Hindle was an extraordinary teacher. She really knew how to engage all children in all of their work and it inspired me to be the kind of teacher she was. I wanted to know not only how to get the kids to achieve but how to get them engaged in and really excited about their learning.”

JPCC is an international, professionally refereed, scholarly journal, reflecting the most important ideas and evidence of the nature and impact of interactions and relationships in the education profession, especially in the school sector. The journal is available to access for free throughout 2016, and Issue one is available now.
