Emerald Group Publishing signs French national license agreement with ISTEX

Major agreement sees 100 years’ worth of Emerald research from 316 journals made available to the French research community

Bingley, United Kingdom, 16 December 2015 – Emerald Group Publishing - a global publisher linking research and practice to the benefit of society - has signed a major agreement with the French national licensing programme, ISTEX, to make key academic resources available to the French research community.

The agreement will include digitized articles from 316 journals - 142 of which are ranked in Thompson Reuters (ISI), Scopus, CNRS, AERES or FNEGE - covering the full breadth of Emerald’s collections, including Business & Management, Economics, Marketing, Engineering, Education and Health & Social Care.

Developed in 2012, the ISTEX project provides online access to digital publications in all disciplines throughout the French research community on one central platform.

The project is a joint effort between the Bibliographic Agency of Higher Education (ABES), the Academic Consortium of Digital Publications (Couperin), and the University of Lorraine acting on behalf of the Conference of University Presidents (CPU), working hand in hand with the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS).

Peter Shelley, Managing Director – Western Hemisphere for Emerald Group Publishing, said: "Emerald has a long and successful track record of working on national licenses and is delighted to have been selected by ISTEX to provide more than 100 years’ worth of highly valued academic resources to French institutions.

“Emerald aims to be the content partner of choice to Business & Management, Library Studies and applied subject communities globally, and we are therefore proud to collaborate with ISTEX in this way and to be part of these ambitious digital plans.”
