How secure is the future of management education?

New Emerald title explores future scenarios for the scholarly and practitioner communities

United States, 4 March 2014 – Where does management education stand today? What are some concerns for its future? Emerald Group Publishing, a global publisher linking research and practice to the benefit of society, has announced the publication of Securing the Future of Management Education: Competitive Destruction or Constructive Innovation?, a new addition to its management books portfolio.

Securing the Future of Management Education, Competitive Destruction or Constructive Innovation?.Drawing on open-ended interviews conducted with leaders immersed in the world of management education, this volume addresses the evolution of management education across North America and Europe. This is the second of two volumes written in part to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the EFMD (European Foundation of Management Development) with which Emerald is a partner in providing quality management research.

Editors Michelle Lee, Howard Thomas, Lynne Thomas and Alexander Wilson establish a set of future scenarios that any student or professor will expect to find in management education over the next 10 years. Author and reviewer John Wheatcroft praises Securing the Future of Management, saying: “The debates about how management education should transform itself will become more heated and insistent. This book examines and confronts all the issues which will emerge in those debates, while offering potential maps for the rough journey in prospect.”

As one of the first academic publishers to bridge the gap between the scholarly and practitioner world, the Emerald portfolio explores topical issues in a wide range of subject areas, including business and management, education, sociology and public policy.
