Emerald Book, Culturally Responsive Methodologies, Receives Honourable Mention in the 2013 PROSE Awards

United Kingdom, 11 February, 2014 – Emerald Group Publishing, a global publisher linking research and practice to the benefit of society, is proud to announce that its book, “Culturally Responsive Methodologies”, has received an honourable mention in the well-respected PROSE Awards 2013, which were announced last week.

The PROSE Awards (American Publishers Awards for Professional and Scholarly Excellence), annually recognize the very best in professional and scholarly publishing by bringing attention to distinguished books, journals, and electronic content in over 40 categories.  Receiving the honourable mention in the Education category, Culturally Responsive Methodologies challenges traditional research notions of distance and neutrality, suggesting a new position from which to navigate the field of research in order to contribute to a more respectful and humble way of working with all peoples.

Edited by Mere Berryman, Suzanne Soohoo and Ann Nevin, the book offers an alternative framework which aims to achieve socially responsible research outcomes, showing researchers how to find, discover, and invent methodology that benefits both the researcher and the subject.

The Emerald Books portfolio now includes over 2,350 titles, with a further 170 new titles due to publish this year. With an international author and editor base, genuine global appeal and usage of both print and eBooks, Emerald has a growing reputation as a major scholarly book publisher.  For more information about Emerald’s book collection, please visit
