Emerald to Support Heart Research UK’s Fundraising Efforts in 2014

United Kingdom, 24 January 2014 – Global publisher linking research and practice to the benefit of society, Emerald Group Publishing, has selected Heart Research UK as its charity of the year (2014). Emerald aims to support the charity by raising funds required for the prevention, treatment and cure of heart disease.

Established in 1967, Heart Research UK is dependent upon donations and volunteer assistance to provide its services nationally.

Martin Fojt, Chairman at Emerald, comments: “Emerald has chosen to support Heart Research UK by raising funds for research and community projects, which help people to reduce their risk of heart disease and provide essential after care support.”

“Although based in Bingley, Emerald is a global company with over 300 staff worldwide, all keen to support the charity,” adds Fojt. “Everyone is behind the company’s decision to support Heart Research UK and we look forward to the upcoming fundraising events we have planned.”

Now in its 15th year, Emerald’s charity of the year initiative continues to affirm the company’s commitment to supporting the wider community.
