Malaysian Academics to Maximize Research Impact

Emerald delivers new Research and Publishing Pathway training program to academics in Port Dickson, near Kuala Lumpar

United Kingdom, 21 January 2014 - Global publisher linking research and practice to the benefit of society, Emerald Group Publishing, is delivering its new Research and Publishing Pathway (RPP) training program to senior MBA, PhD and early year career students at the Majlis Amanah Rakyat institute - Malay for Indigenous People's Trust Council (MARA) this week. The program, developed in response to the Malaysian government’s recent commitment to invest greater resource into promoting the country’s research, aims to help Malaysian academics take advantage of international publishing opportunities and increase their global impact.

Through a series of interactive workshops and one-on-one sessions, delivered by Simon Linacre, Head of Academic Relations and Services at Emerald, attendees benefit from the company’s knowledge and experience as well as developing new skills and practical tools to improve their academic development and publishing potential.

Shahrizin Bin Abdul Sarhadat, Deputy Director at MARA, comments: “This is a great opportunity for Malaysian academics to obtain insight from one of the world’s leading academic publishers and receive instruction on the academic writing and research skills required for international publishing. Our delegates will also learn about publishing strategy, processes and ethics as well as performance evaluation, integral to increasing the impact of our work. We are honoured to welcome Simon to the institute and look forward to an on-going relationship with Emerald.”

“It is a pleasure to be supporting the academic community here in Malaysia and helping researchers to further develop themselves and their research,” comments Simon Lincare, Head of Academic Relations and Services at Emerald. “The Malaysian government has recently announced a strategic focus on higher education in the country to increase its global impact; therefore we predict great things from Malaysian researchers over the coming years.” Linacre concludes.

Emerald’s RPP training program is available to higher education institutions around the world. For more information please contact Emma Stevenson at estevenson@emeraldinsight.com, tel: +44 (0)1274 777700.
