Winners of the 2013 Emerald/University of Chinese Academy of Sciences Case Writing Competition Announced

UNITED KINGDOM, August 2013 - Emerald Group Publishing Limited, is pleased to announce the results of the first Emerald/University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS) Case Writing Competition. Applicants were asked to submit a China-Focused teaching case based in business and management.

Image: Zheng WangThe winning paper is entitled "A New Business Model to Chinese Style Agricultural Industrialization" and was written by Zheng Wang of the University of Texas (pictured right), and Guiping Lin of Peking University, HSBC Business School.

The winning authors will receive a prize of $1,500 and publication in Emerald's Emerging Markets Case Studies (EEMCS) - a peer-reviewed collection focusing on business decision making and management development throughout key global emerging markets.

Publisher at Emerald, Rob Edwards, comments, "Emerald is delighted to have partnered with UCAS to encourage the publication of high-quality teaching case studies focused on China. Promotion via both our networks has resulted in a good number of submissions to the competition this year from academics and teachers within mainland China and globally, and standards were very high".

The competition is the first time that Emerald and UCAS have partnered together to encourage case writing in China. Due to the success of this year's competition, the competition will be offered again in 2014. Submissions on China-focused business case studies are welcome for publication in the meantime.
